The main idea of decorative plates is to show off the beautiful wood figure.  These unusual wood elements include burl, crotch, inclusions, spalding, and wood decay.  Some of these plates are decorated by carving and burning.  All plates are placed in a plate holder which allows one to clearly view the beauty of the entire piece.
